Irrigated Colorado farmland to be offered in major auction

Approximately 1,958 adjacent acres of farmland near Holyoke, in Philips County, will be offered at auction Saturday, Oct. 25. Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company is marketing the property and managing the event in cooperation with The Lund Company.

"This contiguous land has 1,917 acres of FSA cropland, and 1,433 acres under center pivots, with 484 acres in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP)," said R.D. Schrader, president of the auction company.

The land is being sold in five tracts, with the tillable land in three tracts, of 651 acres, 654 acres and 646 acres. Two other tracts make up an additional 7 acres, which are being used for two 30,000-bushel bins and a shop site.

The auction will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Philips County Event Center in Holyoke.

Bids will be allowed on any combination of tracts, or on all the land being offered. Online bidding will be available during the live auction.

Schrader personnel also will be available at the Philips County Event Center from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9.

The auction is part of the offering of approximately 13,450 acres over six days, also including land in Illinois, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.
