Pristine private lake and surrounding land set for absolute auction in Northwest Wisconsin

AMERY, Wisconsin (August 20, 2015) — Lost Lake, a natural 70-acre spring-fed private lake in Northwest Wisconsin, will be sold at absolute auction Tuesday, September 29. The lake will be part of the no-reserve auction of 520 acres of woodlands, meadows and cropland, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company marketing the property and managing the auction.

“This is a remarkable pristine lake — deep, fed by year-round springs, and remarkably clean due to its high elevation. The surrounding land includes beautiful hardwood forests, a working cattle farm with more than five miles of electric high-tensile wire fence, and a home,” said R.D. Schrader, president of the auction company.

The land will sell in five tracts, including the 196 acres on which the lake is located. Other tracts include 23 acres with a home, and land tracts of 56, 139 and 106 acres.

“The seller, who acquired the land in 1967, has been a very good steward of it. The timber is well managed, the meadows are lush, and there are numerous trails for hiking, riding and snowmobiling. Lost Lake has excellent fishing for largemouth bass, sunfish, crappie and northern pike, and the lake is suitable for water landings by floatplane. Wildlife is plentiful, including deer, duck, bald eagles, geese, loon and wild turkey,” said Schrader.

The property is located 70 miles north of Minneapolis/St. Paul.

The auction will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, at the Amery Area Community Center, 608 Harriman Avenue South, Amery. Auction personnel will be available to accommodate inspections September 3 and September 15. Individuals interested in additional information may visit www.schraderauction.com or call 800-451-2709.
