Major Nebraska/Kansas farmland auction to include irrigated cropland, dryland, pasture

RED CLOUD, Nebraska (Dec. 17, 2015) -- Approximately 5,105 acres of Nebraska and Kansas farmland -- including irrigated land, dryland, pasture and hayland -- will be offered at auction Friday, Jan. 29. Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company will market the land and conduct the auction, in cooperation with Cushman & Wakefield and Lund Company.

The event will include land in Nebraska's Webster and Franklin counties, as well as in Jewell County, Kansas.

"This land, which has been owned by a trust, will be of interest to operators, individual investors, and investment funds," said Roger Diehm, executive vice president of the auction company. "We will offer it in 23 tracts, ranging from 20 acres to 640 acres, so bidders will be able to bid on the tracts that best suit their needs."

The total 5,105 acres includes 1,457 irrigated acres, 807 acres of dryland, 273 acres of hayland and 2,325 acres of pasture.

"This land has been well managed and has very good fences and irrigation equipment. Much of the tillable land has a history of producing 230 bushels of corn or more," said Diehm.

Auction personnel will be available at the Red Cloud Community Center, 142 West Third Avenue, Red Cloud, Nebraska, to provide detailed information and accommodate inspections on Jan. 5 (10 a.m. to noon), Jan. 19 (10 a.m. to noon) and January 28 (3 to 5 p.m.).

The auction will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at the community center. Online bidding will be available by advance registration. Individuals interested in additional information may visit schraderauction.com or call 800-451-2709.
