Major auction set for land around Oklahoma’s Eufaula Lake, Piney Creek

EUFAULA, Oklahoma (September 7, 2016) -- Approximately 1,976 acres of land on and around Oklahoma’s Eufaula Lake and Piney Creek will be offered at auction Thursday, Oct. 6, with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company managing the auction.

The land will be offered in 13 tracts, ranging in size from 8 to 1,044 acres.

“Six tracts are on the creek, which runs into the clearest, best part of the lake, and close to the well-known #9 Marina. These tracts have anywhere from 450 feet to more than a half mile of frontage on the creek,” said Brent Wellings, who manages Schrader’s Southwest operations for the auction company.

Other tracts include wooded recreational land, including the 1,044-acre tract that has more than three miles of creek frontage, hardwood timber and abundant wildlife. “Someone could buy three tracts and have well over 1,500 acres of contiguous land for hunting and outdoor recreation,” said Wellings.

“People will be struck by the amount of variation and the beautiful landscapes of this land. It has a number of rock formations and outcroppings, and there are some nice elevated sites. There is a good bit of paved road frontage and potential access to utilities,” he said.

Schrader personnel will be available at the property to accommodate inspections on Sept. 16 and Sept. 29. The auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at the McIntosh County Fairgrounds in Eufaula. Online will be available by request with prior registration.
