About

Dave Oster is a Real Estate Broker and Auction Manager with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company, specializing in farmland listings and auctions across Illinois and Wisconsin. Dave Oster grew up in Iowa on a 5,500-acre corn and soybean farm that also farrowed 35,000 hogs. He left the farm in the 1980s but has stayed connected to agriculture ever since, and today he runs a cow-calf operation in southwest Wisconsin.

Dave joined Schrader in 2024 and serves as a Sale Manager for the company. He entered the real estate and auction industry in the 1990s and became licensed in 2017. He holds a B.S. in Economics from Wheaton College.

Background

Dave's background on a large-scale grain and hog operation, along with his own cattle business, gives him an operator's understanding of what farmland and livestock facilities are worth and how buyers evaluate them. His economics training helps him guide sellers through the financial side of their decisions.

"My word is my bond," Dave says. "When I tell a client something, they can count on it."

Dave lives in West Chicago, Illinois, with his wife, Liz. They have four adult children and three grandchildren. Dave has served in various leadership roles at College Church in Wheaton, Illinois. Outside of work, he is an avid deer, elk, and turkey hunter.
