Kevin Jordan is a Real Estate Broker and Auction Manager with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company, specializing in farmland and recreational auctions and listings across the Midwest and Lake State regions. Kevin Jordan grew up in the 1980s in Clinton County, Indiana, near his grandparents' dairy and grain farm, spending much of his childhood working with livestock, helping harvest corn, and riding along in the machinery with his family. In 1985 his family moved to Whitley County, Indiana, where he still lives today. His father pastored a small country church whose congregation was largely local farm families, so agriculture ran through both sides of his upbringing - the work itself and the community around it. Kevin has since owned farmland in Whitley County himself, giving him a landowner's perspective on the decisions he now helps families make.
Kevin joined Schrader in 2004 and serves as a Vice President and principal broker for the company in Michigan. He earned his Auctioneer license and entered the industry in 2003, and holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University along with a Master of Education in Curriculum and Technology from Ball State University's Teachers College. Both degrees have proven directly relevant to auction work - engineering trained him to break complicated problems into their parts, exactly what a multi-parcel auction requires, and his education background taught him how to make a complex process clear to landowners encountering it for the first time.
Across his auction work at Schrader, Kevin has conducted more than 125 auctions accounting for over $125 million in sales and more than 30,000 acres. On the Kimball International project - a 25,000-acre, $50 million offering and one of the largest farmland transactions in the company's history - he co-managed 9,400 acres in Indiana. He's regularly brought onto Schrader's largest and most complex projects, including the company's nationwide property portfolios and a Wisconsin farmland portfolio that brought more than $46 million over two days. His practice remains active across the Midwest, with more than $28 million in farmland sales over the past four years, including recent work in Whitley, Allen, and LaPorte Counties in Indiana and offerings throughout Michigan - much of it involving estates, trusts, and family farm transitions.
"I've lived in Whitley County, Indiana since I was nine, and I've spent more than twenty years helping families and businesses across the country sell land that often represents generations of work," Kevin says. "That's not a transaction I take lightly. A farm sale is usually tied to something else happening in a family - a death, a retirement, a division among heirs - and the landowners I work with need someone who can explain the process clearly, handle the details correctly, and give them a straight answer about what their land is worth. My engineering background shows up in how I approach that work. I'm the person who catches the title issue, the survey discrepancy, or the access problem before it becomes a surprise at closing. My clients sleep well knowing that I'm taking care of the details for them."
Kevin lives in Columbia City, Indiana, with his wife, Jill, and their five children. He currently serves as treasurer of Columbia City Connect, the downtown business association, and chairs the finance team at his church, where he also leads a small group. He previously served on the board of Northeastern REMC, the local electric cooperative serving parts of Allen and Whitley Counties, and spent more than a decade as a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters, continuing to support that organization along with Youth for Christ.
