About

Matt Wiseman is a Real Estate Broker and Auction Manager with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company, specializing in farmland and recreational auctions and listings across Northwest Indiana and eastern Illinois. Matt grew up on a farm in Morocco, Indiana, and still lives in Morocco today. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University's School of Agriculture, majoring in Agricultural Economics, in 1985 - the start of a career built entirely around farmland and its value.

Matt joined Schrader in 2012 and serves as an Auction Manager and Listing Agent for the company. Before entering real estate, he spent more than a decade in agricultural real estate lending and portfolio servising, first as an Investment Analyst in the Agricultural Investment Department at Travelers Insurance Company from 1986 to 1989, then as a representative in the Agricultural Investments Department at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company from 1989 to 1997. He entered the real estate industry in 1997 and sold real estate with another firm until joining Schrader.

Background

With more than 25 years in real estate and a decade in agricultural real estate lending and portfolio servicing before that, Matt has extensive experience and understands how farmland is evaluated, financed, and valued - insight that helps landowners make confident decisions. He is licensed as a Real Estate Broker in both Indiana and Illinois and as an Indiana Auctioneer, allowing him to serve clients on both sides of the state line. Matt has been pleased and honored to handle many different sized transactions for clients since joining Schrader. He has managed auctions ranging in size from a 2.25 acre one tract auction of a lot, to the major auction marketing campaign of 1739 acres, offered in 24 tracts for the Kennedy Trusts in Lake County, Indiana. Matt also handles traditional real estate listings.

Additional Information

Matt lives in Morocco, Indiana, in Newton County, with his wife, Cyndi. They have three children and seven grandchildren. Outside of work, Matt enjoys gardening, spending time with family and grandkids, attending Purdue men's basketball games, and feeding cattle for freezer beef for family and friends.
