About

RD Schrader is the President of Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company, specializing in land auctions and the marketing of farmland throughout the United States. RD grew up on a livestock farm in Columbia City, Indiana, and spent his childhood immersed in the agricultural community. He grew up in the real estate and auction business as well, learning the trade from his father and grandfather.

RD earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Grace College in 1992 and an M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University in 1994. He has been licensed for 32 years and holds the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI) designation from the National Auctioneers Association.

Background

RD's real estate work includes marketing land throughout the United States. He coordinated one of the largest land auction events in history, totaling more than $55 million, and in 2023 coordinated a $46 million auction. And RD has coordinated multiple private treaty land sales even larger than those auction sales. RD also coordinated the 2012 and 2015 Auction of the Year, as awarded by the National Auctioneers Association in partnership with USA Today. Under his leadership, Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company has sold land in 40 states, with annual auction sales of more than $250 million.

RD serves as a Real Estate Instructor at Reppert's Auction School, specializing in land auctions, and has been a featured speaker for the National Auctioneers Association, the American Bankers Association, Purdue University, Top Producer, and agricultural groups across the country. He has been recognized with membership in The Indiana Academy, which honors exceptional leadership in philanthropy, business, public service, the advancement of the sciences, the arts, literature, culture, and scholarship in and throughout the State of Indiana.

Additional Information

RD lives in Columbia City, Indiana, with his wife of 31 years, Holly. They have four children, Luke, Abbi, Grace, and Anna, and two grandchildren, with more on the way. RD currently serves as Chairman of the Center for Whitley County Youth and serves on the Huntington University Board and Ag Task Force.
