70 acres of Jay County Indiana land sells for over $21,000 per acre in Schrader auction
JAY COUNTY, Indiana (March 25, 2026) – A 70-acre property in Jay County, Indiana, featuring a mix of productive tillable farmland, potential homesites, and scenic river frontage, sold at auction for an average of $21,577 per acre – or a total of $1.48 million – with Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company marketing the property and conducting the event.
The auction was held at the Bryant Community Center in Bryant, Indiana, where bidders competed for the land offered in four individual tracts, multiple combinations, and as a single unit. The property was ultimately sold to two separate buyers.
The offering included approximately 70± acres divided among four tracts ranging from 5.25± to 32± acres. The property featured predominantly tillable soils, road frontage along CR 700 E and CR 750 E, and attractive river frontage on select tracts. The combination of productive farmland and scenic elements created broad appeal for both farmers and rural lifestyle buyers.
