Bidder Registration

• 1 min read

Before a single bid can be placed, every participant — whether attending in person or bidding remotely — must be registered. The registration process differs slightly depending on how you plan to participate.

Registering to Bid Online

For buyers who wish to bid online rather than attend in person, Schrader requires online registration at least one week before the auction date. This lead time allows the auction team to verify the bidder's identity and set up their online access before the event goes live.

Online bidding has expanded Schrader's reach significantly, allowing buyers from across the country to participate in auctions on Indiana or Illinois farmland without traveling. Schrader operates its own proprietary online bidding platform, with a live operator on standby during the auction to assist with any technical issues.

Registering to Bid In Person

In-person bidders register on auction day itself, typically during a window that opens 30 minutes to two hours before the scheduled start time. The process is straightforward:

  • Present a valid driver's license
  • Fill out basic contact information
  • Receive a bidder number

There is no fee to register at a Schrader auction. Registration is also a useful opportunity to connect with the auction team's bid assistants, get any last-minute questions answered, and confirm your understanding of the tract combinations you plan to pursue.
